Chinese astrology predictions for 2016 - Fire Monkey year

This year’s Chinese astrology sees the return of the Fire Monkey and the last time it appeared in the Chinese horoscope was 1956; a time of the Suez Canal crisis and perhaps the decline of the British Empire.

You might well think that the Fire Monkey is a particularly type of Chinese animal sign or a constellation in the Chinese zodiac, when in fact, it actually signifies two distinct type of energies. One being fire, indicating unrestrained and vigorous growth, and the other; the element of the Monkey being metal signifying contraction and control. Clearly they are at odds with each other and something has to give.

In Chinese astrology this year’s Metal influence denotes government, and interestingly at the time of writing an Asian country has just launched a long range missile (fire element) upsetting global powers.

In feng shui and Chinese metaphysics we use what is known as Five Elements to balance energy conflicts, and the much needed element to stabilise the disparity between Fire and metal, is earth. Lucky for us, in its greatest form this influence symbolises humanity, and this puts us clearly in charge of our own destiny.

Luckier still, since 2008 we are naturally in an earth element period which spans 12 years; a complete cycle of the Chinese zodiac. Consequently, both current and future global affairs should be more easily settled.

The earth element also signifies awareness of nature and feng shui, both of which will enjoy even greater success and popularity in 2016. In this respect the Fire influence denotes drive and providing awareness or our planet’s needs, whilst metal indicates proper care and management. Interestingly, this Fire element also denotes a spiritual dimension, so we can all expect many special moments as we interact with it.

Weather-wise, the first half of the year should be unusually bright and warm and we should make the most of this, as the second half will be colder, perhaps with more snowfall than we expect.

Sports and action are well aspected this year and there will be some outstanding performances at this year’s Olympics in Brazil.

The Arts, will be more prominent than they have for some time and we can expect new processes and techniques as a result, especially so, in film, TV and visual presentations. The movie that wins the best special effects Oscar, should definitely be worth watching.
Performance and dance will also feature prominently in Music videos heralding further “Gangnam style” moves.

Spicy and bitter or Umami flavours will be a popular food trend, as will root vegetables and BBQ’s or outdoor cooking will be the perfect environment to enjoy them, especially in the first half of the year.

Industry wise, chemical, entertainment, photographic and optical, nuclear sciences, design and graphics sectors should be prominent until August, when automotive, engineering, precious gems and metal trading, medical and service sectors will thrive in the second half of the year.

Chinese astrology personal Predictions
Contrary to popular belief, there are actually four animals in a Chinese astrology chart, not just one for your year of birth. In addition to the zodiac sign for the year of birth, we all have Chinese animal signs for our day, month and the time of birth. If this is news to you, you can get a free Chinese astrology chart called the Four Pillars Of Destiny Chart, then return to this page to see how your four Chinese animal signs will fare this year.

Do you have a Fire Monkey in your Chinese horoscope?

If you have a Fire Monkey in your Chinese horoscope, particular as your day of birth,  it denotes wealth and management possibilities, although it could also indicate a lack of confidence or self-esteem. However, if you have the wood element in your chart then you should be “firing on all cylinders” and you should be both vibrant and successful in most endeavours. If not, feng shui will help you to incorporate this influence into your life.

Albert Einstein was actually born on a Fire Monkey day. Let us now review each sign of the Chinese zodiac and see what our personal trends and tendencies will be.

Personal predictions of your Chinese zodiac sign.

Rat

It's a good year for Rats as they are allied with the Monkey and have excellent wealth opportunities, especially when they work in partnerships or teams. Males are popular with the opposite sex and females are feeling very vibrant and energetic.

Ox

Oxen are also feeling very energetic and may receive some life changing advice. Great year to study and adopting different techniques in your life can lead to amazing results.

Tiger

Interesting year full of change, good for romance and recognition although people’s expectations may place you under pressure. However, managing time or communications can easily convert stress into accomplishment. Lucky element for this year is water.

Rabbit

Moving home or travel is well aspected, as is starting a family. Should be a good year to take and pass exams, or start to realise previously established ambitions. Extra responsibility could lead to promotion in the second half of the year.

Dragon

Along with Rat, Dragon forms the prominent group for this year and wherever this falls in your horoscope can indicate the most prevalent part of your life in 2016. It will be an exciting period full of energy and creativity.

Snake

This zodiac sign is aligned with the Monkey and brings power and authority stemming from wealth opportunities.  Generally a good time to invest in your image or life and doing so, could lead to romance or a new circle of friends.

Horse

A busy year, with lots of changes awaits our equestrian friends at this time. However, proper planning and managing your schedule is the best way to achieve success. Lucky element for this year is wood.

Sheep

This sign has the magic element for this year; namely earth and consequently they will probably be at the centre of things. They are well liked and supported and encouragement enables them to find new levels of expression. They could start a family or new project.

Monkey

Wherever this zodiac sign appears in a Chinese horoscope indicates the part of their life that most concerns them. Additional responsibility or more authority may create stress, however, they can deflect pressure with the earth element. They may also need to watch their weight as they can develop a “sweet tooth” at this time.

Rooster

A very powerful year awaits this sign, good for promotion and establishing relationships. However, there is a tendency for personal plans to go astray and checking fine details is a possible way of avoiding disappointments.

Dog

This could have been a trying time for this sign, but luckily they have the very useful element of earth which will see them in great stead. They have a lot of freedom of choice but need to be careful of people telling them what they think they want to hear, rather than what they need to know. Good for passing exams, travelling, even migrating.

Pig

This last sign has the reverse of the Dog and will generally receive only good support and advice. They can be romantically involved and have a lot of financial opportunities to take advantage of, hard work brings the best rewards.

Laughing Lemur jumps out of the fire

Today is a Fire Monkey day and as fire qi is associated with joy and laughter I wanted to find a Monkey type that began with a corresponding letter. Of course, Lemurs are primates and primates are divided into different categories prosimians, monkeys and apes. Lemurs are prosimians. Then I noticed a rare expression in the Tong Shu which literally translates as “out of the fire” and as the content of our blog is similarly unique, we forged today's title.

The correct translation of 出火 chūhuǒ is to “express ones desire” and should your wishes also include meditation or honouring ancestors, having a haircut, sweeping house, moving home, refurbishing a room, making wine or fermenting, installing a water feature, herding animals, or setting up a tombstone, the Chinese almanac supports you wholeheartedly.  Not so much if you lay foundations, or buy or set direction for your bed or oven.

Fire Monkey is potentially the richest of the five different monkey types in Chinese astrology.  Depending on what time of year they were born, they may be quite punishing on their bodies or have tight control of their emotions, especially so when found within their day pillar, see free Chinese horoscope.

Monkey’s natural pals are the Rat and Dragon whilst Tiger, Horse and Dog may clash and you should see our dedicated Fire Monkey web page for your own personal signs tendencies. We will return tomorrow with a Little Red Rooster.  Until then enjoy every moment of NOW.

Fire Monkey

Despite being offline for the past nine days due to a misplaced road workers shovel severing a major BT cable, it has been a pretty busy time.  We have mostly redesigned and updates our web site’s home page and hope you like it. .

Today marks the 60th day since we began this daily Chinese astrology blog and Twitter, so its a good time to send any questions or discuss any theories. Don’t forget to tell your friends about our new group. Here is today’s astrology and Tong Shu

This Fire Monkey day is known as a year break in Chinese astrology as the daily animal clashes with the annual sign of Tiger. It is said to be unlucky for most things except asking advice from ancestors, a Chinese tradition and taking things apart or refurbishing.  A modern day translation is a good day for getting advice hence our questions. Alternatively, an I Ching divination – please see http://www.fengshuithatworks.co.uk/I-Ching-divination.html

From a Chinese astrology perspective those born under Rooster may suffer setbacks, but it should be a better day for water signs of Pig and Rat. Similarly earth signs of Ox, Dragon, Sheep or Dog will feel both energised, enough to put new ideas into action.  Monkey signs are at the centre of attention and will focus on that part of life corresponding to their respective horoscope pillar, please see http://www.fengshuithatworks.co.uk/free_chinese_horoscope.html#pillar for details. Wood signs of Tiger and Rabbit should be creative during the morning and may get recognition for this during the afternoon. Meanwhile Snake and Horse signs go with the flow and may have money luck as a result. Daily Chinese horoscope first posted 2010

Fire Monkey daily Chinese horoscope

This Fire Monkey day is known as a month break in Chinese astrology as the daily animal clashes with the monthly sign of Tiger. It is said to be unlucky for most things except fixing problems, which range from health in terms of finding a specialist and treating an illness to property refurbishment or rebuilding.

Today’s heavenly Fire stem severely restricts and controls the branch of Monkey. If this was found in your horoscope you may be considered lucky with money although you would have a problem hanging onto it.

Criticism may also play a big part of your life and this would cause stress until you learned to live with it. Luckily it can be balanced with the wood element and feng shui would help you incorporate this into your environment. It could also give you much needed support especially as you may have to manage everything yourself.  The last Fire Monkey year was 1956 when Andy Garcia, Tom Hanks, Kenny G and Sugar Ray Leonard were born. As Chinese astrology is based on a cycle of 60 It will next appear in 2016. In month terms August 2011 was be last time it appears as monthly qi and celebrities who have this influence from previous cycles include Roger Federer, Beyoncé Knowles and Usain Bolt. Albert Einstein was actually born on a Fire Monkey day.

From a Chinese astrology perspective those born under Rooster may suffer setbacks today, but it should be a better day for water signs of Pig and Rat. Similarly earth signs of Ox, Dragon, Sheep or Dog will feel both energised and creative enough to put new ideas into action.

Wood signs of Tiger and Rabbit should be creative during the morning and may be rewarded by recognition for their efforts during the afternoon. Meanwhile Snake and Horse signs go with the flow and may have money or wife luck as a result.

Feng Shui astrology -Fire Monkey pillarMonkey shine melts “Big Snow” in Rat race

Wow a lot going on today and not just in our office. We begin with it being a Fire Monkey day and as fire glistens or shines, you can see how we derived inspiration for our title. It can also refer to a dispute amongst friends and today sees the start of the Rat month, where the Rat and annual Rabbit have never quite seen eye to eye.

Luckily, any disagreement is balanced by the Monkey and Rat being part of the same group and considered pals. In fact, a Dragon completes this combination and produces a very strong and usually favourable reaction.  See if you have one in your chart with our free Chinese horoscope. Race refers to a monthly cycle and usually marks a huge effort to ready ourselves for the festivities ahead.

Today also sees the start of a new fifteen day period called quite literally “Big Snow”.  Chinese philosophy has noted over millennia that in the northern hemisphere we traditionally get larger snowfalls at this time. Consequently, you may want to prepare your home and car for the possibility of more challenging weather conditions ahead. Although, looking out of my office window, I am reminded again of the shine in today's title, this time prefixed by “sun” and all thoughts of this melt away.

The Chinese almanac is taking a well-earned rest and only recommends preparation as today's suitable activity. It advises against having anything to do with fire; except for keeping warm that is.

To see how your own sign is affected today see our dedicated Fire Monkey web page and we will return tomorrow on a Red Rooster day.
Until then, enjoy NOW! Fire Monkey daily Chinese horoscope posted 10th June 2011

Monkey see Monkey do – LOTS!

We first started this blog in quite mundane terms by just stating the daily pillar. In the old days, we would just entitle this a Fire Monkey day and in fact, the first blog we ever wrote was also a Fire Monkey day.

However, as there are sixty different combinations or pillars, we found this simple form quite uninspiring and like everything we do, wanted to inject some knowledge and at times, a touch of humour. Monkey see, Monkey do refers to the learning of a process without an understanding of why it works – clearly not our way of doing things!

In Chinese philosophy and feng shui, the title refers to sight and action; two of the many phenomena associated with the fire element. There you go educational! Lots – indicates the auspiciousness of today which according to the Tong Shu is very lucky for those born on a Snake day or hour and not so good for those born on a Water Tiger day. Can someone tell Lord Sugar to take it easy today? For the rest of us, recommended activities include meditating, asking for blessings, taking a course, visiting friends, travelling, getting married, exchanging gifts, having a professional astrology reading, buying or making clothes, emigrating, opening a  business and trading, refurbishing your home or office, moving earth, fixing the roof and setting up a tombstone.
