The hole Hog?

Wood Rabbit symbol

You might think this should be written as the Whole Hog, a proverb that refers to going to the furthest extent. However, I am actually referring to the traditional rounded shape of a hole, which represents the metal element and is more appropriate on this Metal Pig day.

Any Pig day in a Snake year is known as a Year break and subsequently bound to be challenging, therefore you should go the whole hog for any chance of the merest smile or relief. We just did!

The Chinese almanac suggests only tidying up of affairs and to avoid any serious meetings or partnerships, marriage included. Tomorrow isn’t much better, but Sunday or Father’s Day in the UK is, and Monday better still.

We will return on Tuesday and until then, enjoy every moment of… Sunday!

It doesn’t beat a Pig-a-Pecking

"If That Don't Beat a Pig-a-Pecking” is a way of saying that something is amazing. Unfortunately, this Metal Pig day is the complete opposite, hence the slight amendment in our title.

That said, it is an auspicious “Wall” day in the 28 Lunar Mansion system, said to represent the wall of a treasure house and signify virtue, scholarship and the connoisseur. However when close to a negative influence as it is today, this aspect degrades into gossip and slander.

Normally, those who marry on a Wall day would have extremely talented children, but not so under these conditions, as the month Dog sign clashes with the annual Dragon sign. Consequently, the Chinese almanac advises against marriage today. Oh well, there is another Wall day every 28 days from this day forth so perhaps the next one will be better?

Our Book of Nature does however recommend quiet reflection and meditation or honouring ancestors, as well as pampering by having a haircut. It must be the quiet time before the storm.

I also chose today's title because the snout, beak or nose is associated with the Metal element of today. Find out here free Chinese horoscope if Metal Pig is in your horoscope. When found in your day pillar, you are already talented, even blessed with an uncanny knack of “thinking outside the box” which leads to great success and prosperity. Self-expression comes easy and you have a well-defined sense of adventure, which makes you both fun to be around and completely unpredictable. Famous celebrities born under the Metal Pig Chinese zodiac sign include Mary J Blige, Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Goran Ivanisevic, Ricky Martin, Ewan McGregor, Dylan Moran, Winona Ryder, Mark Wahlberg, and Rachel Weisz.

Metal Pig days are particularly good for those born under the Chinese zodiac signs of Rabbit and Sheep, where they can enjoy power, prominence and wealth respectively.  Tiger, Snake and Horse signs are also in the spotlight and Dog, Dragon and Ox horoscope are lucky with money and romance. Rooster and Monkey zodiac influences find it a good day to relax or go on a long journey.  Rat signs may need to rethink their plans and as Snakes signs clash with today's Pig, they would benefit by wearing green or light blue colours.

We will return tomorrow with a Water Rat Chinese horoscope and until then, enjoy every moment of NOW.
